Caribana this year was  blessed with good weather, lots of great bands, and some of the best decorated floats – the latter seem to get better with each passing year. There was a huge turnout at CNE Exhibition Place where all the floats and bands marshaled and got started. However, the biggest crowds were along Lakeshore Boulevard:
The band sounds were either crushing decibel thumping BigTruck DJ Sounds  [see above- the camera shake is due to the sonic blastings] or the more enchanting pan and barrel drumming with their lighter and more lyrical tunes.
Again this year there were designs, colors, feathers and flair everywhere a float or costume could be found. Everybody had a camera – either cellphone, compact or scores of high-powered digital SLRs were harvesting the pix and memories. But retro also showed up as well – with a maestro and his 16mm Solex movie camera taking footage  where PixofToronto’s crew hung out too – at the end of the parade route near Parkside – where one can get close to the floats and people at the end of the parade.
